According to the cost of living index prepared by the collaborative platform Numbeo for 2026, Tenerife ranks 295th worldwide, having moved up positions due to the general increase in prices across the islands.
Compared to cities such as Madrid and Barcelona, Tenerife offers a very reasonable cost-of-living scenario, with consumer prices 22.1% lower than in Barcelona and 14% lower than in Madrid (excluding rent). When rent is included, these consumer prices are 27.2% and 20.1% lower, respectively.
